Definitions

Definitions for the readiness terms contractors actually use.

For office teams and field leads, this glossary clarifies the language used across the job-site readiness confirmation and pre-dispatch check workflow.

Job-site readiness confirmation

The step where a team confirms the site is actually ready before the crew is sent to do productive work.

Pre-dispatch confirmation

A go / hold / move decision made before the crew is released for the scheduled visit.

Site blocker

Anything that prevents productive work from starting, such as missing access, missing materials, or an incomplete predecessor trade.

Previous trade not finished

A common construction blocker where the next trade cannot start because predecessor work is still incomplete.

Wasted trip

A crew visit where the team arrives but cannot start productive work because the site was not actually ready.
